Sightsavers India Fellowship Program 2024 is an opportunity for young ophthalmologists offered by Sightsavers India. This fellowship program is designed for postgraduates or diploma holders in ophthalmology (MS/DNB/DO) to gain training at some of India's leading eye health institutes. The program focuses on identifying and nurturing talented candidates through an innovative course that enhances their perspectives on rural eye health. Selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend of up to ₹75,000 and other benefits.
Sightsavers* is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that works to prevent avoidable blindness and promote equality for people with visual impairments and disabilities, particularly in developing countries.

Deadline30-Jun-2024 Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- hold a postgraduate degree (MS) or diploma (DNB/DO) in Ophthalmology from a recognized institute/university in India
- possess a strong foundation in clinical ophthalmology
- demonstrate a strong commitment to lifelong learning, adaptability, professional ethics, and emotional resilience
Benefits The selected students will receive the benefits as follows:-
- For the initial four-month training period: ₹35,000 per month
- For the first year of field posting: ₹65,000 per month
- For the second year of field posting: ₹75, 000 per month
Upon successful completion of the program, fellows will receive a lump-sum payment at the end of the first and second year. Additionally, medical, accident, term life, and professional indemnity insurance will be provided throughout the fellowship.

How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the fellowship by following the steps mentioned below:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID.)
Step 3: Navigate to the ‘Apply Now' button in the top right side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Enter a mobile number to complete the verification step.
Step 5: After successful verification, fill in the required details and upload the necessary documents.
Step 6: Click on the 'Submit' button.

Note:- The fellowship will begin in August 2024.
Selection Criteria
The selection process is based on an assessment of submitted documents and interview performance. It consists of the following stages:
- Application Review:
- Submission of application form
- Shortlisting of candidates based on eligibility criteria
- Interview Stage:
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview
- Final selection will be made based on interview performance and reference checks
- Induction and Orientation: Successful candidates will undergo a formal induction and orientation program.
