Nature’s Best Photography ASIA invites all photographers to enter our second annual AWARDS COMPETITION specific to images taken in Asia, by photographers residing anywhere in Asia. See map and country descriptions below to make sure your photographs are eligible. A selection of Winners from Nature’s Best Photography Asia will be displayed within the Nature’s Best Photography Annual exhibition opening in October at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. — one of the most widely respected and highly visited museums in the world.

Terms and Conditions
PHOTOGRAPHIC SUBJECT | Any nature photograph in any of the five categories listed below taken in Asia |
Wildlife
Wild animals (mammals, reptiles, amphibians, etc.—birds should be entered in the bird category) photographed within their natural habitat anywhere in Asia.
Landscapes
Dramatic scenes and unusual perspectives of Asia’s wild places providing expansive views, as well as images of plant life such as: flowers, trees, and other flora in their natural habitat. Please reference in your caption if your image was taken in a designated Wilderness Area.
Ocean
The world of the sea photographed above, below, and around the ocean’s surface: tide pools, coral reefs, marine life, waves, landscapes, seascapes, and creatures who depend upon the ocean for survival. All shots must be from waters that border Asia.
Birds
Wild birds in their native habitats displaying plumage, mating rituals, territorial battles, nesting, feeding, parenting, or other behaviors, adults with young and portraits.
Small world
Close-up images of plants, animals, and miniature landscapes taken with micro/macro lenses.
Video
High definition video has become an important tool in recording and sharing the wild. In addition to still captures, the editors at Nature’s Best Photography Asia are looking for views of nature and outdoor experiences through the eyes of videographers and filmmakers. Tell us your story, share your favorite experience, include clips of you or others in the field and the wildlife behavior you have observed. Upload your submission through YouTube, Vimeo, or other viewing platforms and provide us with the link (and password, if necessary).
AWARDS | ONE WINNER FOR EACH CATEGORY (The category winner will receive a $1000 award and a plaque)FIVE HIGHLY HONORED FOR EACH CATEGORY (will receive an award plaque) |
ENTRY FEE | For each entry fee of $25 US dollars you may enter a total of 20 images. You may start as many entry pages as you like for $25 each. |
Exhibition | A selection of Nature’s Best Photography Asia Category Winning photographs will be displayed in the annual Awards Exhibition at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. They will also be displayed in exhibitions throughout Asia. |
Invitations | Nature’s Best Photography Asia winning photographers will be invited to the annual Awards Ceremony at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. Travel expenses are not included. |

COPYRIGHT | Photographers own their own copyright and enter Nature’s Best Photography Awards competitions of their own free will. As a condition of having a photograph selected as a winning image, photographers agree to a non-exclusive transfer of worldwide rights allowing Nature’s Best Publishing, LLC (NBP) and Nature’s Best Photography Asia (NBPA) the following uses including, but not limited to: publishing the image(s) in upcoming issues of Nature’s Best Photography magazine; hanging the image(s) in public exhibitions; and displaying the image(s) on the NBP and other websites; and using the image(s) to pro mote NBP and NBPA competitions. Non-exclusive allows the photographer to market the image as they choose. NBP and NBPA do not restrict future sales of the image, rather NBP enhances opportunities to market the photograph as a Winner in a very prestigious competition. Many photographers have found their sales to increase based in part on their participation in NBP award competitions |
