The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) Admissions 2024 is the process of selecting students for the upcoming academic year (starting typically in July/August) across the seven IISER institutes in India. These institutes offer five-year BS-MS dual degree programs in various science disciplines. Admission to IISERs is done exclusively through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). It is a computer-based test that is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 09, 2024 at 9:00 AM, at various centres across India. The computer-based test will be available in Hindi and English.
Students admitted to IISERs are eligible to avail benefits under the INSPIRE scholarship programme. Students with aggregate marks within top 1% of their Class 12 examination of any State/Central Education Board in India and pursuing Integrated M.S. courses in Natural and Basic Sciences at IISERs, NISER and Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Basic SciencesUniversity of Mumbai and Visva-Bharati, Shanti Niketan are eligible to apply under the scholarship programme.

Deadline13-May-2024 Eligibility - Applicants must be Indian nationals, PIOs, or OCIs to apply for IAT 2024.
- Candidates must have passed the Class 12 or equivalent level examination in 2022, 2023, or 2024 from any board recognised by the Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE).
- Candidates appearing for the Class 12 or equivalent exam must have taken at least three of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
- Candidates from SC/ST/PwD backgrounds need a minimum of 55% marks in Class 12, while candidates from other categories need a minimum of 60%.
Note: Students from the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), specifically those from the Kashmir division, Winter Zone areas of Jammu division, and the U.T. of Ladakh, who appeared for their Class 12 or equivalent exam in December 2021, are also eligible to apply for IAT 2024, provided they meet all the other eligibility criteria.

Step 1: Click the ‘Apply Now’ button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note - If already registered, log in using the registered email ID.)
Step 3: Navigate to 'Aptitude Test' at the top of the dashboard and click on it for the drop-down menu.
Step 4: Click on 'Apply for IAT' in the last of the menu.
Step 5: Fill in the required information, upload the necessary documents, and submit.

The following performance criteria will be considered in Class 12 or equivalent examination:
- Candidates awaiting their Class 12 or equivalent examination results may apply for IAT 2024. However, their admission will be contingent upon meeting the minimum eligibility criteria outlined above.
- For candidates who re-appeared for any subject in their Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2024, the higher score from either attempt will be considered.
- For boards awarding aggregate marks based on multiple years or semesters, only the final year or final two semesters' marks, respectively, will be considered. Candidates receiving letter grades without a percentage equivalent should obtain a conversion certificate from their board and submit it by the deadline. If unavailable, the percentage will be calculated as (CGPA or CPI x 100) / PS, where PS is the board's maximum point scale value.
What is the application fee for IISERs admissions?
- The students are required to pay a non-refundable application fee as below at the time of submitting the application form:
- General, EWS, OBC, and OBC-NCL categories: ₹2,000
- Persons with disabilities (PwD), Kashmiri Migrants (KM), and SC/ST categories: ₹1,000
- Students shall pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) only after receiving an admission offer. The amount of the SAF depends on the category selected in the application form.
- General/EWS/OBC/OBC-NCL/PwD/KM categories: ₹35,000 (₹25,000 + ₹10,000 non-refundable administrative fee)
- SC/ST categories: ₹17,500 (₹12,500 + ₹5,000 non-refundable administrative fee)
Note: Failure to deposit of the above SAF within the stipulated time will result in the cancellation of the offer. Also, the student will not be considered in any subsequent rounds of seat allotment during admission 2024.
Once the student registers in the allotted IISER, this amount will be adjusted against the first-semester fee.- The students are required to pay a non-refundable application fee as below at the time of submitting the application form:
