About The Program

Yuvraj Singh Foundation has introduced YouWeCan Scholarship for Cancer Survivors 2017.This initiative aims to help the families that are facing a financial crisis due to the expensive and prolonged cancer treatment of their immediate family member by educating their children.The application process for this scholarship will start from August 7, 2017. 

EligibilityDeadline Date : Closed

An applicant must be-

  • From PAN India.
  • A student whose immediate family has fought with cancer in the past two years or whose family member is currently going through cancer treatment.(Note- Students who have lost their parents within two years due to cancer are preferred.)
  • A student studying in class 1 to 12, Graduation, Diploma, ITI or Post Graduation. (Note- Students who are studying in Undergraduate / Professional /Technical Courses from a state/UGC recognized University / Reputed Engineering, Management, and other technical institutes are also eligible.)
  • From a family whose annual income is less than INR 400,000.
  • Not availing any other scholarship whose amount is Rs.6,000 or more.

Note- Children of Employees of YouWeCan and Buddy4Study are not eligible to participate in the scholarship program.

How can you apply?

In order to apply for this scholarship, follow the steps given below-
Step 1- Click here to go to the website.
Step 2- To start the application, login or register first. Note- One can use the following three options to log in or register-

  • Login/register on Facebook (Preferred).
  • Login/register with Google Plus (Preferred).
  • Login/register with Email.

Step 3- Once signed in, click on 'START APPLICATION' to start filling the form. 
Step 4- Fill in all the details and upload the documents required.
Step 5- Click on Submit.
Note- Once the Online Application Process will be completed, a confirmation email/SMS will be sent to the registered email id/mobile number. One can track the application status to log in the account.

Terms and Conditions
  • An applicant needs to give personal details, academic details, reference details and details about the treatment of cancer of student or their family member suffering from cancer.
  • The affidavit needs to be provided.
  • Shortlisting of the candidates will be based on the criticality of the disease, family background, merit and need.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be selected for the telephonic interview. (Note- Language for the telephonic interview will be Hindi, English or any regional language.)
  • Final selection will be based on the telephonic round and will be made by the YOUWECAN Scholarship Team.

Award details-

  •  Scholarships up to INR 15,000 per year will be provided at the school level.
  •  Scholarships up to INR 30,000 per year will be provided at graduation and post-graduation level.

Note-

  • Initial period for receiving this scholarship is 2 years.
  • If the program continues, students can apply again for scholarship in the second year of their undergraduate course subject to meeting the criterion(They will be given preference over any new entrants).
  • Total scholarship seats would be 100(Approx.).
