UOW Bradman Foundation Scholarship 2014

Applicants must:

• hold an Indian citizenship
• be enrolled at UOW or have an unconditional offer of admission to UOW
• have completed his or her secondary education at an Indian school and have achieved 75% in at least 3 academic subjects (see application form for full details)
• have a club or higher level of participation in the sport of cricket

Selection Criteria:

In addition to the eligibility criteria, the Bradman Foundation and UOW will consider how the candidate meets the purpose and selection criteria of the UOW Bradman Foundation Scholarship.

The purpose of the UOW Bradman Scholarship is to provide an opportunity to a person living in India to study at UOW.

The selection criteria of the UOW Bradman Scholarship include whether the candidate:

1. displays a blend of academic, sporting, personal and social skills which will best allow the Scholar to fulfill the purpose and requirements of the Scholarship.
2. is able to act as an ambassador for the Bradman Foundation and UOW during the period of the Scholarship, including appearing at public events. The candidate’s personal presentation and ability to communicate well with others is therefore relevant.
3. is able and willing to participate in social activities at UOW;
4. has a range of interests and hobbies relevant and supportive of the UOW Bradman Scholarship;
5. is able to conduct themselves in accordance with Sir Donald Bradman’s ideals; and
6. has provided a written application and supporting documents as required, as this may determine whether the applicant will be considered by the joint selection committee.

Selection Process

Representatives of the Bradman Foundation and UOW will form a joint selection committee to consider applications. The joint selection committee will consider those eligible applications against the selection criteria, and at their discretion that joint selection committee shall select the successful candidate for that calendar year to UOW.

All applicants will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application.

As far as possible, all applications will be managed confidentially.

UOW and the Bradman Foundation will retain all applications until the joint selection committee has selected the successful person for that year’s UOW Bradman Scholarship.

If an applicant wants their application to be returned to them after the scholarship selection is complete, the applicant must include a self addressed, prepaid envelope so that the application can be returned to the applicant.

UOW and the Bradman Foundation may retain any applications not returned to applicants, and may contact those applicants with other information that may be of interest.
