About The Program

The University of Alberta invites applications from postgraduate students who are admitted to a doctoral program for Doctoral Recruitment Scholarship 2018. The objective of the scholarship is to recruit superior students at a doctoral level having the potential to contribute to the University of Alberta's community and research.

 

EligibilityDeadline Date : Closed

To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must -

  • Be an international student, Canadian citizen or permanent resident. 
  • Be admitted to a doctoral graduate degree program by the department or transferred from Master's to a doctoral program
  • Be registered for a full-time doctoral degree program. 
  • Have at least an admission GPA of 3.5.  
How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps -
Step 1: Apply for a doctoral degree program. 
Step 2: Download the scholarship nomination form from here. 
Step 3: The department will nominate the candidates.
Step 4: Email the nomination form to grad.awards@ualberta.ca in pdf format.

Award details

  • The selected candidates will receive the scholarship amount in increments of CAD 5,000. The department decides how many increments of CAD 5,000 will be offered to a student. 
  • The award value may vary and it will be indicated in the original offer letter of the candidate.

Q. Is a student who has just begun a doctoral program eligible for the scholarship? 
A. No, it is a recruitment scholarship. 


Q. Can a student not fulfilling the GPA requirement also apply for the scholarship?
A. Yes, the students not fulfilling the GPA requirement can also be nominated for the scholarship. However, they need to provide a justification letter with their nomination letter.
