Shastri Research Student Fellowship 2017-18

Student:

• The applicant must be a citizen of India or Canada
• An applicant should have completed 1-year of graduation and minimum of 1 semester or 6 months of post-graduation from India or Canadia and secured at least 55% marks
• The final year or last semester applicants have to give proof for the internship required for that particular degree
• Applicants pursuing M.Phil should have completed minimum of 1 semester
• Must be from member institutions of Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute
• The applicant should not have another degree from a Canadian university or be enrolled in a Canadian degree
• A letter of invitation or affiliation from the host faculty is must and the affiliate should be from the member institution of Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute.
• The applicant should demonstrate proficiency in oral and written English
• Age should be between 21 to 25 years

Doctoral:

• The applicant must be a citizen of India or Canada
• Must be registered or admitted for full-time Ph.D. in an India or Canada
• Applicant’s synopsis should have been approved by competent authority before the last date of submission of application with SICI
• The applicant’s university must be from member institutions of SICI
• Should have no objection from his or her Institution before applying
• Should have to give 2 reference letters of which one of the letters must be from their thesis supervisor or HoD
• A letter of invitation or affiliation from the host faculty is must and the affiliate should be from the member institution of Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute.
• The applicant have to request their supervisor to declare in the reference letter that synopsis of their thesis has been approved and also indicate the stage of research

Post Doctoral:

• The applicant must be a citizen of India or Canada
• Must have a doctoral degree awarded by Indian or Canadian University
• Must be from member institutions of SICI
• Simultaneous doctoral degree award one can apply and  applications must be made within five years of receiving a doctoral degree
• Proof of Ph.D. degree award (provisional) need to be submitted along with the application form
• A letter of invitation or affiliation from the host faculty is must and the affiliate should be from member institution of Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute
• The applicant’s admission the Postdoctoral Fellowship should have been approved at the time of submitting application
• Should demonstrate proficiency in oral and written English
• Age should be between 30 to 45 years
• Applicants who are employed must submit employer’s endorsement and no objection from head of the department/Institution/ with the application
