The Vinod & Saryu Doshi Foundation is a non-profit charity trust that supports initiatives in the fields of Art & Culture,Education and Community. It seeks to embody the lifelong passions and values of Vinod and Saryu Doshi, who believed that the mind is enriched through education and the spirit through art and culture. They have spent a considerable part of their lives supporting these causes.
The Foundation provides scholarships to financially challenged young Indians enabling them to catapult themselves to a higher economic and social orbit. It fosters emerging talent in the visual and performing arts through Fellowships, performances, exhibitions and festivals. It is committed to improving the community by funding initiatives in environment protection and social upliftment.
The Vinod & Saryu Doshi Foundation have extended its support for education by setting up rigorous and challenging Post Graduate Fellowships in Liberal Arts & Sciences. It is to support students of Indian nationals who received an abroad University acceptance to pursue post-graduation in the field of Liberal Arts, (Masters, Postgraduate diploma/certificate or doctorate). It mainly includes Fellowships for Humanities in India, the sciences, Scholarships for Social Sciences in India and Mathematics.
The main aim of the fellowships program is to enhance the higher education access especially for the minority section of the society. With our belief, that mind is enriched through education and the spirit through art and culture, the fellowships serve as a great opportunity for brilliant and aspiring students with a drive to climb the ladder of success. VSDF is of the view that financial problems or challenges should not block your road to success. Being need-based merit scholarships, it abides by the Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action policy.
Saryu Doshi Post Graduate Fellowships In Liberal Arts & Sciences 2016
DeadlineClosed Eligibility - They must have a first class degree or equivalent from a recognized Indian university.
- They must have secured admission in a foreign university of repute, on their own merit for a course commencing from August or September, 2016.
- Should be an Indian citizen
- Candidates studying in the final year of the degree or equivalent may also apply, provided they are able to submit their final year certificates before April 30th, 2016.
How can you apply? 1) This is an online form. Kindly type all the fields, save each section with the 'save' tab to proceed to the next section.
2) Handwritten forms will not be accepted.
3) Entire form needs to be filled in one attempt.
4) Once all fields have been entered, click on the 'Submit' button, Save and take the printout of the form.
5) Attach all the relevant hardcopy documents as indicated in the list of documents and your photo along with a signed copy of the application form and courier it to the below address before 15th April 2016 :

Terms and Conditions
Timelines
- January 2016: The Fellowship will be announced through various means including the newspaper, social media and informational posters at various Colleges and Universities in Mumbai and Pune. An application form can be downloaded from our website www.vsdf.org.
- Candidates are asked to complete an application form and courier it to the Vinod & Saryu Doshi Foundation at the following address : Vinod & Saryu Doshi Foundation Post Graduate Fellowship, c/o Premier Ltd. , 58 Nariman Bhavan, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400 021.
- April 15th, 2016: DEADLINE TO RECEIVE COMPLETED APPLICATIONS. The application form should be duly filled and submitted with all the essential enclosures to the above mentioned address before April 15th 2016.
- April 25th, 2016: The interview date will be intimated to the shortlisted candidates.
- May (1st week) 2016: The final interview of the candidates will take place, post the final year results
- May 15th, 2016: Final selection announced
- June/July 2016: Awards are presented annually. The winners, and their parents are invited to this event. Cheques will be presented at this time subject to the student having received a valid student visa from the country in question.

An esteemed panel of experts will review all applications and short-list those who appropriately meet the criteria. The shortlisted candidates are then called for a personal interview. Students must appear in person for the panel interview if they are selected to do so. No stand-in will be accepted. If the student is unable to appear on his or her own behalf, eligibility is relinquished. In case you are not from Mumbai – a Skype call or telephone interview may be conducted with the selected candidate. This will be at the sole discretion of the selection committee.
