About The Program

National Overseas Scholarship 2017-18 is organized by Government of India. It invites application from SC,Etc graduate and post-graduate students who want to study in abroad. The objective of this program is to provide financial support to the meritorious students. The selected students will receive the financial assistance up to the completion of course.

EligibilityDeadline Date : Closed
  • Ph.D.:
  1. Applicants who have secured at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in post graduation are eligible to apply
  2. Preference will be given to the experienced applicants, especially to those who are on lien with their existing post and employer
  • Post graduation:
  1. Applicants who have secured at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in graduation are eligible to apply
  2. Preference will be given to the experienced applicants, especially to those who are on lien with their existing post and employer
  • Age should be below 35years, as on 1st April 2017
  • The family income should not exceed INR 6 Lakhs p[er annum
  • Not more than 2 children of the same parents or guardians will be eligible and to this effect, a self-certification will be required from the applicant

Terms and Conditions

The financial support is provided up to completion of the course or research for the period:

  • Ph.D.: 4 years
  • Post graduation: 3 years

Note:
30% of the awards will be reserved for women applicants

Documents required to be attached:

  • Self-attested photocopies of all degrees/diplomas/certificate with mark sheets,
  • Income certificate in the prescribed format [Page 16 of Notification]
  • Offer letter of admission if obtained
  • Self-attested photocopy of caste certificate issued by a Competent Authority
  • In the case of Passage Grant additional information with a statement which indicates:
  1. Details of merit scholarship and the manner in which it has been obtained
  2. Self-attested photocopy of the letter of the award
