About The Program

Swansea University scholarships are open to new undergraduate students studying any subject and are tenable for the duration of the scholar's undergraduate degree.Two kinds of music scholarships are available: University Instrumental Scholarships & Joint Choral Scholarships.

To apply for University Instrumental Scholarships, a candidate must -

  • Be a player of any instrument
  • Typically have gained a merit or distinction at Grade 8 (or equivalent) on their instrument
  • Be expected to commit to playing in one or more of the ensembles run by the student societies, for many scholars, this will be the orchestra, but may also be the big band, wind band, or another group.

To apply for Joint Choral Scholarships, a candidate -

  • Should be an experienced choral singer
  • Must possess good aural skills and sight singing capability

To apply for a Music Scholarship:

Step 3: Choose appropriate scholarship of your interest
Step 4: Give 2 Referee's name in the scholarship
Step 5: Submit your form

In addition to the forms, you will need to submit:

  • Copies of certificates and marks sheets for Grade 8 and any higher qualifications in instrument or singing;
  • Video performances of two contrasting pieces, not exceeding 7 minutes’ duration in total (For instrument scholarship).
