About The Program

Lok Sabha Internship Programme 2017 invites application for the applicants of graduation to PhD with the objective of providing an opportunity to young applicants with outstanding academic and extra-curricular achievements to acquaint themselves with the working of parliamentary democracy and democratic institutions in general and specifically about our parliamentary system. This will help the interns to gain a sound understanding of the pre-eminent position of Parliament in democratic set-up as a multi-functional institution with a variety of functions to perform, like law making, securing financial accountability, ensuring Executive accountability, constituent functions, representational role, educational role, national integrational role and also as a grievance redressal mechanism. The duration of this program is up to 3 months and selected interns will get up to Rs 30000 as a stipend, stationary and typing expenses.

3-months internship:

  • The duration of the Internship Programme will be 3 months starting from 3 July to 29 September 2017.
  • Applicants should be between 21 to 30 years of age as on 30 June 2017.
  • Have outstanding academic record in disciplines such as social sciences, languages, environmental studies, law, journalism, finance, management, business studies, commerce, etc.
  • The applicant should have completed a 2-year Post-Graduate Degree.
  • Applicants who are pursuing doctoral study to undergo internship.

1-month internship:

  • The duration for Student Internship Programme will be from 28 June to 27 July 2017.
  • The applicant should be a student pursuing graduation/post graduation in disciplines such as social sciences, languages, environmental studies, law, journalism, finance, management, business studies, commerce, etc.

  • Statement of Purpose           
  • Age Proof Certificate
  • Upload your picture (maximum image size is 100kb).
  • Upload your signature (maximum sign size is 100kb).
  • Write about details of articles/publications, if any.
  • Write about proficiency in computer applications.
  • Professional experience, if any (in case the applicant is working with any Government Organisation, the application shall be routed through the proper channel).
  • Any other relevant information in support of the candidature of the applicant, with documentary evidence.
