About The Program

The Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India invites applications from students pursuing graduation and post graduation courses in natural or basic sciences for INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) 2017. 

EligibilityDeadline Date : Closed

To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must -

  • Be among top 1% of students in terms of aggregate marks in his/her Class 12 examination. 
  • Be pursuing a graduation or post graduation course in Natural or Basic Sciences (BSc., BSc (Hons.), MSc., MSc (Hons.))
  • Be among top 1000 rankers in JEE of AIPMT/IIT exams and pursuing courses in Natural and Basic Science. (If applicable)
  • Be enrolled in BSc/BS and MSc/MS with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Biology, Astrophysics, Geology, Astronomy, Botany, Electronics, Biochemistry, Zoology, Microbiology, Anthropology, Geochemistry, Geophysics, Oceanic Sciences and Atmospheric Sciences. 

 

How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps -
Step 1: Click here to register as a new user. 
Step 2: Login again using registered email id and password. 
Step 3: Click on "Scholarship" link.
Step 4: Click on "Apply for Scholarship".
Step 5: Fill in all mandatory fields. 
Step 6: Upload all scanned documents in the prescribed format. 
Step 7: Finally submit the application form.

Award details

The selected scholars will receive an annual scholarship of INR 60000 in cash and INR 20000 per annum for mentorship that sums up to INR 80000 per annum. 

Scholarship Duration

The scholarship is tenable for maximum 5 years of duration. However, the continuation of the scholarship depends on the good academic performance of the students in their University examinations.
