About The Program

Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, 15, Janpath, New Delhi invites applications for Dr. Ambedkar Foundation National Essay Competition 2016 on the topic: 1. Ambedkar's views on Nation & Nationalism. 2. Personality of Dr. B.R Ambedkar, his Social Environment, his Education or Western Thoughts. The students have to write an essay on any one topic given above and sent it by post. The essay can be written in Hindi or in English. In total 12 winners will be getting cash prize up to Rs. 1,00,000 and a citation.

  • Category 1: Students of class 9 to 12.
  • Category 2: Students of college, university and institutes.
How can you apply?

Students of category 1 will have to write an essay on the topic "Ambedkar's views on Nation & Nationalism".

Students of category 2 will have to write an essay on the topic "Personality of Dr. B.R Ambedkar, his Social Environment, his Education or Western Thoughts".

Now send you entries with the registered post or in person to the Vice Chancellor, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Vidya Vihar, Raebareli Road, Lucknow-226025, Uttar Pradesh. The envelope must contain the subject superscribed as "Dr. Ambedkar Foundation National Essay Competition-2016".

Details:

  • The essay shall be of 3500 words and 2000 words for entries from students of Colleges /Universities / Institutions and Schools respectively.
  • Each participant should submit only one essay entry on the suggested topic.
  • The participants shall submit a certificate that the essay is their original work.
  • The individual participant shall enclose a certificate issued by the concerned recognisedschool/ college/ University/ institutions, certifying that he/she is a bonafide student.
  • Participants should send two clean typed copies (one original & another photocopy) of theessay. One copy should include name, address, topic, language, e-mail, phone no. etc.with the signature of the participant, while the other copy need not show any such particulars.
  • Submission of the essay entry to the competition implies the acceptance of the rules and regulations of the competition.
  • No correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.
  • Relevant information like name, e-mail address, postal address, institution, course and year of study etc. of the student participant should be indicated in the covering letter and strictly not in the essay.
  • The organisers reserve the right to reject entries that do not conform to these guidelines.
  • All entries received for competition will become the property of the Dr Ambedkar Foundation. The winning entries may be considered for publication in a book form by the Foundation.
  • In all matters of dispute, the decision of the Dr Ambedkar Foundation will be final and binding.
