About The Program

The Deakin University, Australia has introduced Deakin University Postgraduate Research Scholarship (DUPRS) program for international students who have a first class honors degree and are willing to commence a research degree at Deakin University. 

EligibilityDeadline Date : Closed

In order to be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must -

  • Have completed at least 4-years of tertiary education studies and achieved a first class Honours degree. 
  • Be enrolled as on-campus, full-time students
  • Be not receiving any equivalent award, scholarship or salary to undertake the proposed research program.
  • Have not previously held a Commonwealth Government-funded postgraduate research scholarship or DUPRS unless it was terminated within six months of the scholarship’s payments commencing.
  • Have not completed a degree at the same level as the proposed candidature, or at a higher level.
How can you apply?

The eligible candidates need to adopt the following online application process to apply for the scholarship -
Step 1: Register through a valid email id and password by clicking here
Step 2: Verify the account through email and login to complete the higher degree by research application form.
Step 3: Answer all questions thoroughly in the form.  
Step 4: Attach necessary documents and 2 referee reports
Step 5: Submit the form and also mail in the electronically certified copies to research-scholarships@deakin.edu.au/research-hdr@deakin.edu.au

Terms and Conditions

Scholarship value and duration

  • The scholarship award will be provided to selected candidates for 3 years. Details of the award are hereunder -
  • A stipend of $26,682 per annum tax exempt (2017 rate)
  • A relocation allowance from $500 to $1,500 (2017) awarded to students who are moving from interstate or overseas in order to study at Deakin
  • Paid sick leave for 60 working days
  • Paid parental leave for 60 working days
  • Tuition fee and overseas health coverage for international students for the duration of 4 years.

Depending on the faculty or institute candidates are enrolling in, the intake dates may vary -

  • For Faculty of Arts and Education/ Faculty of Health/ Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment/ Institute for Frontier Materials/ Institute for Intelligent Systems Research and Innovation - 12 June 2017, 17 July 2017, 28 August 2017, 02 October 2017, 13 November 2017
  • Faculty of Business and Law - 6 March 2017, 10 July 2017
