About The Program

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship 2018 is an initiative to provide financial assistance and guidance to graduate students belonging to Commonwealth nations to pursue their Master's degree course from some selected universities in the UK through distance learning.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

Following applicants will be considered eligible for this scholarship:

  • Must be a permanent resident or citizen of an eligible Commonwealth country or should have been granted refugee status by that nation.
  • Must be holding a first degree of upper second class (2:1) standard, a lower qualification and enough relevant experience.
  • Must be unable to afford or pursue the opted course without the help of this scholarship.
Benefits

The Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship Scheme provides full tuition fee assistance along with other necessary costs occurred in distance learning study including the full cost of any residential components of a course.

Step 2: Check for the taught master's courses offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme and the University.
Step 3: Fill in all the required details and upload necessary documents.​
Step 4: Submit the form.

Important Dates
  • The selected candidates will be informed by the universities in August 2018.
  • Deadline for applications to be submitted is 20 June 2018

 

Selection Criteria
  • Each participating university conducts its own recruitment process to select the candidates. The selected candidate's report must be produced before Commonwealth Scholarship Commission by the end of 4 July 2018.
  • Candidates are selected by the universities on the basis of academic merit of the candidate and potential impact of work on the development of his/her nation.

  • The applicant must not have applied for any other scholarship program concurrently with the Commonwealth Scholarship.
  • The candidates are not required to take any kind of English language test as IELTS etc.
  • The candidate has to sign a declaration after getting selected for the scholarship program that he/she resides in a Commonwealth country and is unable to pay the fee for the course opted to pursue.
  • The candidate must not be registered for any other program or educational course during the time of his/her award.
  • The scholarship can be terminated anytime if the candidate is found defaulter on any grounds regarding his/her conduct, progress or attendance.
