About The Program

Department of Higher Education, MHRD, Government of India invites applications for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students 2017-18. The main objective of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the meritorious students, by providing them with their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies. 

 

EligibilityDeadline Date : Closed

To be eligible for the scholarship, a candidate must -

  • Be pursuing a regular engineering or medical course. 
  • Be above 80th percentile of successful candidates in a relevant stream in class 12 for a particular Examination Board. 
  • Have annual family income not more than INR 6 Lacs per annum from all sources.
  • Not be receiving any other scholarship. 

Note: The students of all categories can apply for this scholarship. Students pursuing degree courses through distance mode or correspondence are not eligible. 

How can you apply?

The application can be done online only with the following steps:

Step 1: Click here to apply online
Step 2: Click on "New User? Register"
Step 3: Scroll down to click on "Continue"
Step 4: Fill the details to register
Step 5: An application id and password will be generated on the computer screen and an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number
Step 6: Enter OTP number and confirm.
Step 7: Now, start filling the form.
Step 8: Click on "Final Submit" to submit the application form.

Award details

  • The amount of scholarship for students at Graduation level for first 3 years is INR 10000 per annum. 
  • The amount of scholarship for students at Post-graduation level is INR 20000 per annum. 
  • The amount of scholarship awarded to students pursuing professional degree courses is INR 20000 per annum for 4th and 5th year. 

Duration of scholarship 

The total duration of the scholarship should not exceed 5 years. 

Documents required

 

  • Entitlement card
  • A form for "Statement of Particulars"
  • Income Affidavit form 

Note: All these documents will be sent by boards/universities of State/Union Territory to each candidate who is shortlisted for the scholarship award.

A. The scholarships will be directly transferred into the bank accounts of the beneficiary through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
