About The Program

Central Board of Secondary Education announces the CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme For Single Girl Child who have secured 60 per cent or 6.2 CGPA or more marks/grades in the CBSE Class X examination and are studying in Class XI and XII in Schools, affiliated with CBSE. The aim of this scholarship is to acknowledge and encourage the meritorious girl students and their parents' efforts as well.

In order to be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must-

  • Be a single girl student, i.e., the only child of her parents.
  • Be an Indian meritorious student who has secured 60 per cent or 6.2 CGPA or more marks/grades in the CBSE Class X examination in 2017.
  • Be pursuing her Class XI and XII in any CBSE affiliated school.

Note-

  • The tuition fee of that school should not be more than INR 1,500 per month during the academic year.
  • The total increase in the tuition fee should not be more than 10 percent of the total fee in the next two years.
  • For NRI applicants of the CBSE board, the tuition fee of the school should not be more than INR 6,000 per month.
How can you apply?

In order to apply, follow the steps given below-

Step 1- Click here to apply.
Step 2- Enter the roll number and certificate number as mentioned on the class X grade sheet.
Step 3- Fill in all the details carefully and submit the form. Note- Kindly write down the registration number shown on the page for uploading the documents and for other future communications.
Step 4- Click here and print the Undertaking from the Guidelines Document.
Step 5- Fill in the details, paste the photograph and get the Undertaking attested from the school.
Step 6- Make an Affidavit according to the format given in Guidelines Documents.
Step 7- Take the scanned copy of Affidavit and Undertaking. Note- The scanned documents should be in JPG format and of size up to 1 MB.
Step 8- Click here and click on Upload documents option to upload the two documents.
Step 9- Click on Print Confirmation, enter the roll number and registration number and generate the confirmation page.
Step 10- Send the duly filled and signed confirmation page to the address mentioned below-

Important points to consider-

  • The affidavit should be original and duly attested by the SDM/ First Class Judicial Magistrate/Notary/Executive Magistrate and should be in the format available on the CBSE website.
  • The principal of the school from where the student is pursuing Class XI after passing Class X from Board’s Examination should attest the application form.
  • The scholarship will be renewed after the successful completion of Class XI with an aggregate of 50 percent or more. 
  • The prior approval from the CBSE board should be taken in case of leaving the chosen course before completion or changing the school or course of study.
  • The student must have good conduct and regularity in attendance for renewal of scholarship.
