About The Program

Brandon Research Fellowship in International Law 2017-18 invites applications for 11 to 13 weeks' stays at the Lauterpacht Centre of the University of Cambridge to undertake a project on some aspect of public or private international law or international arbitration. Candidates must specify a project in their application. Fellows must produce a report of their work in English at the end of their Fellowship and deposit with the Lauterpacht Centre any publication resulting from the work undertaken during the Fellowship.

  1. Candidates must be fluent in English language and at least one of French, German or Spanish language.
  2. Candidates must specify a project on international law or international arbitration.
  3. This is a postgraduate research fellowship, so the persons enrolled in PhD programs are not eligible to apply unless their final thesis has been submitted before the closing of this application.

The application can be done either by post or by email with the following steps:

Step 1: Go to the website and read the details.

Step 3: Download and take the 2 printouts of the application form.

Step 4: Fill the form.

Step 5: Along with the application form attach following documents:

  • outline of proposed research
  • Curriculum vitae (maximum four pages);
  • Two letters of reference.

Step 6: Send it by post or scan the application form and send it by email.

Terms and Conditions

The fellows have to undertake a project on international law or international arbitration. Fellows will submit a report of their work at the end of their Fellowship to the Lauterpacht Centre. The Fellows will get a maximum value of £4,500 (GBP) and no other additional expenses incurred. Award amount will be paid, once fellows arrived in Cambridge.
