About The Program

Advance to Australia-India Schools Video Competition 2016 provides an opportunity for a five-day trip to Australia. Any students of class 9 to 11 have to make a video of not more than 3 minutes. The students can apply through schools with the help of their teacher, any individual or a team of two members can apply. Interested candidates must choose one of these five themes: Earth Science, Story-telling through dance, Nanotechnology, Construction Management and aerospace. One school can nominate only one team from five themes.

How can you apply?

The application can be done online with the help of your teacher or school. Follow the following steps:

Step 1: Go to the website and read all the details from here.

Step 2: Make sure that you are using valid email id of the School.

Step 3: Fill the form by giving the personal details of your schools.

Step 4: Write down about the team.

Step 5: Click on Submit Entry.

Terms and Conditions

Below are the prizes, 5 selected teams will get:

  • Airfare from India to Australia for two students and one accompanying teacher, which also includes accommodation, food and a study course.
  • The best video on Earth Sciences will receive a study visit by Australian National University.
  • The winners for the best video on Story-telling through Dance will receive a study visit hosted by Macquarie University.
  • The winners for the best video on Nanotechnology will receive a study visit hosted by RMIT
  • The winners for the best video on Construction Management will receive a study visit hosted by the University of Southern Queensland.
  • The winners for the best video on Aerospace will receive a study visit hosted by the University of Sydney.
  • The competition is organized by Cambridge English Language Assessment and the Australian Trade and Investment Commission. Travel is sponsored by Allianz, Urbanest and Credila.

Q. What is the Advance to Australia video competition 2016, and who can participate in this competition?
A.
It is a video competition run by Cambridge English Language Assessment and the Australian Trade and Investment Commission, which is open to students from  grades  9 -11, studying in IGCSE, IB, CBSE, ICSE, and State Board schools in India.

Q. Who is eligible to enter the competition?
A.
The competition is only open to school students in India. Registration and submission of entries must be completed by a teacher or other staff member of the school. Teams must be made up of no more than two students from grades  9 -11.

Q. Do I have to register only through my school?
A.
Yes, students from grades 9 - 11 who are interested in participating in the competition are required to register only through their schools. Students cannot register autonomously or individually.

Q. What are the judging criteria for the competition?
A.
The submitted videos will be judged on the content, which includes relevance, accuracy and originality, language, which includes clarity, delivery and creativity and presentation. Students are asked to check that there is no copyright infringement in their videos.

Q. When will the winners be announced?
A.
The winners will be announced on 20 April 2017.

Q. What are the prizes?
A.
Each winning team (one for each theme) will enjoy a five-day trip to Australia. It will be an all-expenses-paid trip to experience student life at one of Australia’s leading universities.
