4th NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS 2013
GUIDELINES
1. TITLE
These Guidelines shall be called the NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS Guidelines.
2. AIMS & OBJECTIVES
To promote Nation's, Art, Culture, Development, Heritage, History, Life, People, Society, Traditions, etc with art and technique of photography and to encourage professional and amateur photographers from all corners of the country.
3. COMMENCEMENT
The Guidelines shall come into force with immediate effect.
4. AWARDS
Following type of Awards shall be presented by the Photo Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
- LIFE-TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD:
- LIFE-TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD shall be awarded to renowned photographers of the country who have made long and outstanding contribution in the various fields of photography at the National and International level. And whose photographic work has also contributed in various sectors for the development of the society.
- NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS UNDER PROFESSIONAL CATEGORY
- Professional Photographer of the Year.
- Special Mention Awards for Professional Photographers.
C) NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS UNDER AMATEUR CATEGORY
- Amateur Photographer of the Year.
- Special Mention Awards for Amateur Photographers.

a) LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

- Professional Photographer of the Year:
- Cash Prize of Rs. 100,000

- AWARDS FOR AMATEUR CATEGORY
- Amateur Photographer of the Year:
- Cash Prize of Rs. 75,000

- Special Mention Awards (Amateur)
- Cash Prize of Rs. 10,000 each
- Special Medal or Plaque
- A Citation
8. Winning images in all the categories of awards will be exhibited in major States in the country and also displayed on official website of the Division to get worldwide promotion of the winners.
PROCEDURE FOR SELECTION
9.
- All the Awards shall be recommended by a Selection Committee duly constituted by the Ministry of I&B, Government of India.
- The Committee shall comprise of a Chairman and not more than five members distinguished in the field of Photography or allied arts.
- The Committee will determine its own work procedure.
- Any person directly or indirectly associated with any of the entries for competition or the competitors shall not be eligible to serve on the Committee.
- A person appointed as Chairman or member of the Committee shall make a declaration in writing in the form given in Schedule II to these guidelines.
- The quorum for the deliberations of the Committee shall be at least 50% of the members of the Committee including the Chairman.
- The Committee shall give its recommendations to the Ministry.
- The Committee shall have the discretion not to recommend awards in any particular category if it is of the opinion that the entries in a particular category are not of the appropriate standard.
- The decision of the Ministry of I&B shall be final and no appeal or correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
10. Contestants and Chairperson/Members of the Selection Committee will be required to sign a declaration as per Schedule-I and II of these Guidelines respectively before entering the contest or taking up the assignment as Chairman/Member of the Selection Committee, as applies.
DETAILS OF PARTICIPATION
Subject for Professional category: (Maximum 15 photographs): Hamara Bharat Swacch Bharat
Subject for Amateur Category: (Maximum 10 photographs): Mother and Child
CATEGORIES AND DEFINITIONS
Definition of the Professional:
A person whose main source of livelihood is from photography (working in the capacity of individual photographer or in a Photo Section, Newspapers, News agencies, Studios, teaching photography & communication or individual agencies or any form of major source of revenue through photography) is considered to be "Professional Photographer".
Subject: Hamara Bharat Swacch Bharat
Definition of the Amateur:
A Photographer who does photography as a hobby, for creative urge but her/his major source of revenue should be from some other means is considered as "Amateur Photographer".
Subject: Mother and Child
Submission of work by the Professional Photographers
Submission of works by the professionals must be based on a content and quality on the specified subject and should be restricted to maximum of Fifteen Numbers of Entries as a portfolio to explain and establish the originality of the subject. Only fresh & unpublished pictures would be considered. Picture should have been taken during the last TWO YEARS time ending from the date of commencement of the contest for the subject.
Submission of work by the Amateur Photographers
Submissions of works by the Amateurs must be based on the specified subject and should be restricted to maximum of Ten Numbers of Entries. Only fresh picture would be considered. Picture should have been taken during the last TWO YEARS time ending from the date of commencement of the contest for the subject.
LAST DATE OF SUBMISSION OF IMAGES 31st January, 2015.
Entrant should clearly mention on the top of the envelop participant of “4th National Photography Awards 2013" & sent them to the Addressed below.

- By entering the Competition, the participants agree and acknowledge that Photo Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting is permitted to receive personal registration data.
- All personal information will be used by Photo Division in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
- No entrance fees.
- Competition is open to all professional & Amateur Photographers of the country.
- Professional & Amateur category entrants must be over 18 years.
- The participants will have to accept Competition Rules, Terms & Conditions.
- Entries must be submitted by 31 January 2015 up to 6.00 PM. The late entries will not be accepted.
